The Route
The buses will be operational from June 21st to June 24th and will start their route at Avenida Maisonnave, closest to Calvo Sotelo Square. The routes will begin at 8:00 a.m. each day and make their last trip at 10:30 p.m. The buses will run every 15 minutes. As a new addition, the itinerary includes a new stop this year. The Special Hogueras bus takes a detour and goes through Avenida de Elche to approach the Baver-Els Antigons district, which is making its debut in the Special category with its adult monument.
Route Map
After taking the bus at Maisonnave, near the Diputació-Renfe, Hernán Cortés, and Sèneca-Autobusos Hogueras, the route continues – after passing through Baver-Els Antigons – to Florida Portazgo and Florida-Plaza la Viña. The following districts to be visited are Polígono de San Blas, La Ceràmica, Carolinas Altas, and Sagrada Familia before returning to the city center via Paseo Mártires de la Libertad, where it will make a stop to admire the offical hoguera of Pedro Espadero.
Five strategic starting points
The construction of the bonfires, barracks, and “racós” (enclosures) will require traffic to be cut off in different areas, and the city center of Alicante will be closed off. These measures will be in place from 7:00 a.m. this Saturday, June 17th, until the same time on June 26th.
As a result, there will be diversions in the city for public transport lines, and urban bus routes will be modified. To address this, five strategic starting points have been established for the lines that pass through Alicante.
BUS-TAXI exclusive lanes
Avenida Juan Bautista Lafora-Jovellanos will have an exclusive lane for buses and taxis. Public transport services will travel on the right lane towards Plaza del Mar from Avenida de Dénia from June 18th to June 25th.
Plaza de España will serve as the starting point for lines 8, 10, 13, and the night bus 24N. Meanwhile, Estación-Óscar Esplá will provide service for lines 7, 7P, 9, 21, 22, and 23. The starting and ending point for routes 6 and 24 will be the bus station.
Plaza del Mar will be the starting point for lines 5, C-6, and the night buses 3N, 21N, 22N, and 23N. Additionally, the closest bus stop to Plaza Calvo Sotelo on Avenida Maisonnave will be the strategic point for lines 27 and 4H.
