Guidebooks and Maps

Buying a guidebook is a necessary expense that will help you achieve a positive travel experience. It’s a tiny fraction of what you will spend on your entire trip. You will be able to see more, and better understand what you are looking at (historical landmarks, lookout points, etc.) if you have a decent guidebook. We highly recommend either the Lonely Planet or the Rough Guide. Both provide practical and useful background information. You won’t regret buying either of these guides!
