Valenbisi - bicycle sharing system

Updated August 2022

Valenbisi is Valencia’s bike-sharing system.

It’s available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and with over 275 Valenbisi stations throughout the city it is a really convenient and inexpensive option if you don’t own a bike and aren’t interested in renting or leasing one.

Weekly or annual subscriptions are available.

There are 2 types of subscriptions, annual (long-term) or weekly (short-term).

To enjoy the benefits of an annual Valenbisi subscription, you will need a “Mobilis” card, the public transit card for Valencia.

Here is an easy step-by-step that will get you riding around Valencia in no time.

1. Head over to the Customer Service Offices of EMT Valencia (Colon Metro station) or a tobacco shop or kiosk to buy a “Mobilis” card. This card can be used for “Valenbisi” and the entire public transit network of the city of Valencia.

2. The plastic card costs €2 and is rechargeable from 10 to a maximum of 30 trips for bus, metro and tram. You can recharge them at tobacco shops, kiosks or the Customer Service Offices of EMT Valencia (Colon Metro station). Read more about routes and options here.

3. Once you have your “Mobilis” card, go to the Valenbisi website.

4. Enter your email address then click OK. Enter a 6-digit PIN and click OK.

5. You will receive an activation email, open it and click on the link.

6. Choose Long-Term Subscription (LT) annual plan for €29.21 and click on “Choose This Plan”

7. Fill in your personal information (Your first and last name must be written in CAPITAL LETTERS or the system will reject the request.)

8. You will be directed to a new page where  you can choose to contract or not to contract civil liability insurance. The cost is €9; it is not mandatory but we advise you to buy it.

9. Next, you will see the contract information. Be careful with the option of “auto-renewal for my Valenbisi Subscription”. If you don’t want the servcie for more than 1 year, deactivate it.

10. The system will redirect yo to the payment page. Activate the “check” to authorize to store my bank details securely for the deposit (it is mandatory to complete the operation).

11. Once the payment is completed you will receive an email with 2 important information “Subscriber number”: XXXXXX and “Association code”: XXXX XXXX XXXX

How does it work?

To rent a Valenbisi bike, you just need to go to a “Valenbisi” bikes station and place your “Mobilis” card in front of the card reader.

Select option 2 from the menu “activate your mobile subscription”

Enter your “subscriber number”: XXXXXX

Enter your “association code”: XXXX XXXX XXXX

If you have an annual card, swipe it over the reader and enter the code. If you have a short-term ticket, you only need to enter your code.

Once you’ve logged in, you have to select an available bike on the screen – you then have 60 seconds to unlock it and you’re good to go!

To complete your journey, simply bring the bike back to one of the nearest stations. An audio signal on the stand will confirm that the bike is locked correctly. Always double-check this, because if it’s not locked, the system will keep running and your bank account isn’t going to like that.

If the bicycle won’t lock correctly, try another available stand.

TIP: if you want to ride your bike longer than 30 minutes, simply park it at a Valenbisi station before the 30 minutes are up and take it out again. That way, you won’t be charged any extra fees.

It can sometimes be difficult to find an available bike or spot, especially in crowded and popular areas such as Ruzafa, El Carmen, and places at the beach like Malvarossa. So, if you are in a rush, don’t use a Valenbisi.

Download the app: Valenbisi Valencia. If you allow the app to use your location, it’ll show you the nearest Valenbisi stations and the number of available bikes.
